                        INTRODUCTION

 

Advancing Service Delivery and Infrastructure Development in Chibombo

The Zambia Devolution Support Programme (ZDSP) is catalyzing meaningful progress in Chibombo by strengthening local systems and enhancing the Council’s capacity to deliver dependable public services. Through improved financial management, enhanced local planning, and performance-based infrastructure financing, the programme is helping Chibombo Town Council implement transformative projects that respond to the needs of our growing district.

With ZDSP’s support, Chibombo is building stronger institutions, promoting accountability, and investing in modern facilities—laying the foundation for a more efficient, transparent, and community-centered local government.

Chibombo Town Council is privileged to be one of the beneficiaries of this national development effort. With support from ZDSP, the Council is implementing an ambitious multi-phase project to construct a modern, fully serviced bus station and complementary commercial facilities that will uplift the face of Chibombo and improve public service delivery.

Project Phases

 Phase One

This phase covers the construction of essential infrastructure, including:

  • A modern ablution block

  • Two commercial shops

  • Office space

  • Banking halls

  • Drilling of a solar-powered commercial borehole

The total investment for Phase One stands at ZMW 2,600,000.00.

 Phase Two
Phase Two expands the facility with additional public and commercial amenities, such as:

  • A mall hall

  • Storage facilities

  • Ticket sales offices

  • A banking hall

This phase has an estimated cost of ZMW 3,600,000.00.

 Phase Three
The final phase brings a major economic boost with the construction of:

  • An Anchor Shop

  • A modern banking hall

This phase is valued at ZMW 12,000,000.00.
