The Chibombo Department of Agriculture has emerged as the overall winner in the Best in Agricultural Production and Productivity category at the 53rd Central Province Agriculture and Commercial Show held in Kabwe.
The prestigious agricultural showcase, which ran from 25th to 28th June 2026 at the Godfrey Ucar Stadium (formerly Railways Stadium), was held under the theme “Fostering Trade and Investment” and brought together farmers, exhibitors, government departments, private sector players and other stakeholders from across the province.
The show was officially opened by the Permanent Secretary for Central Province, who commended stakeholders for their continued efforts towards promoting agriculture, trade and investment as key drivers of economic development.
The event provided a platform for participants to showcase innovations, agricultural products, livestock, technologies and services aimed at enhancing productivity and improving livelihoods.
Chibombo District’s Department of Agriculture stood out among exhibitors after demonstrating excellence in agricultural production and productivity, earning the top position in the highly competitive category.
The achievement reflects the district’s commitment to supporting farmers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and strengthening food production through extension services and community engagement.
The Central Province Agriculture and Commercial Show continues to serve as an important avenue for knowledge sharing, market linkages and investment opportunities, contributing to the growth of Zambia’s agricultural sector.
