Schools from across 11 districts in Central Province have converged in Chibombo District for the ZANACO Grassroot Under-17 Interdistrict Games, with young athletes showcasing their sporting talent and competitive spirit.
Chibombo District is hosting this year’s sporting event, which brings together learners from various schools across the province to compete and promote youth development through sport.
The games were officially flagged off by Chibombo District Commissioner Mr Lloyd Kayeka, who encouraged participants to demonstrate discipline, teamwork and fair play throughout the tournament.
The ZANACO Grassroot Under-17 Interdistrict Games provide a platform for young athletes to nurture their skills, build confidence and strengthen unity among schools in Central Province.
As the competition continues, participating teams are expected to give their best performances as they vie for honours while celebrating the power of sport in bringing communities together.
